I do a fresh install of Mythbuntu 11.04 64-bit as primary backend and frontend. I am able to get it set up to watch live tv and to record and to download the guide info from SchedulesDirect. But I cannot figure out how to get a frontend on a different...

You would want your local frontend to stay with localhost, your remote frontend should get the IP should be able to connect.

I have searched multiple sites, including this one, to find the command that is supposed to be in one of the LIRC files. In Mythbuntu Control Center, the option to add the frontend restart button mapping doesn't work on 11.04.
So, what I was wondering...

Ian Dobson I believe is more than a year that they introduced automatic frontend restart.
Note this solution could get overwritten when updates are installed .
And starts the frontend again.

Found one of these bare-bones mini pc's on sale new for £120, lowest i had seen previously was around £180
So with the addition of a Kingston s100 ssd and 2gb of ddr2, i had a complete frontend for the living room for £180.
Works really well and is inaudible...

The control socket goes to the frontend, and is gone when the frontend exits.

That's odd, mine works fine with Ubuntu + Myth and Mythbuntu.

You probably know this: Mele A1000 TV box. It is an Android TV box

What's not intentional is myth reading to the channel while in livetv, closing livetv, and reopening livetv where myth will auto tune.
But it is suppose to be deleted shortly after the live tv stream starts .
