This is a question for those who think that for someone to be a natural born citizen, both of their parents have to be citizens.
If a child is born out of wedlock and his father is not known, does that mean the child is not considered a natural born citizen...

Not quite accurate, but close.
All persons born in the United States are natural born citizens, the status of either parent are natural born citizens, the status of either parent is irrelevant.
