And if all of those don't work, then reboot and at the grub menu,
select the second,

sudo apt-get remove --purge nautilus
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nautilus.

I notice when I right click on a file in Nautilus, the rename item in the context menu is greyed out, even though it still works. Is this specific to my setup or does anyone else see this.
Forget it. Bug is already reported.

This is not a solution for creating it automatically using Nautilis but you could potential create a few of them on a share and copy them to each desktop .
You could create a new shortcut and prefix it with smb://[server]/[path] .

There must be a way to disable CTRL+Q for Nautilus, but google has failed me

So I just "pkill nautilus" to...

Yes, you read right. I need the functionality offered by nautilus so I've installed it and use it happily in Xubuntu Jaunty (XFCE4). However, when I boot the PC, Thunar (I think) controls the desktop. I want Nautilus to control the desktop e.g. draw the...

I have seen the right-click GUI where the pop-up menu has a "resize" option which will resize all selected files (e.g., to 640x480 pixels).
But, searching here for "resize JPEG" and "nautilus-image-converter" & similar searches doesn't show how to do ...
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at centos):
Please check through some required reading before adding that repository .
nautilus-image-converter package is found in the EPEL repository.
