I recently ordered a Telecaster body, and a neck for it. According to what I read about the neck pocket on that model of Telecaster (It's the body from a 2011 Blacktop), and the neck, it should be 2 & 3/16th inches where it gets screwed to the body, if...

Number 1 was my first thought, making the neck narrower seemed a bit dodgy of the pocket to widen....
File down the sides of the neck, just as deep as the pocket so you don't see is a loose pocket.
Or crack the finish.

Just purchased a 2011 American Strat Standard, and just noticed these minor gaps on either side of the neck. Is this something that should warrant return or is it just my OCD kicking in?
I already have to go back to guitar center to get the correct tremolo...

If that is ok by you, why not to build 3-hole start, those are great too? Also 70'a neck is pretty slim (apart not to build 3-hole start, ....

Just about to start routing the neck pocket and shaping the neck on my JR Build. I've decided to put the angle on the tenon itself and have the pocket parallel to the top.
When I come to rough cutting out my neck and trimming the tenon to fit the neck...

As for the neck pocket I use a rather cool jig that uses the finished neck as the guide for routing.

One thing is too wide for the bronco....
Fender basses well, you should expect a little bit of difficulty in shimming the neck pocket and stuff.
I barely had to trim the neck pocket at all to get this bronco neck to fit.

I'd like to replace my G&L neck, since it's warped and twisted (never was any good.) What neck should I get? Would a jazz or p-bass neck fit? I'm looking to replace it with a fretless neck. Any pointers much appreciated.
