I know there's a difference in followers the contestants have. X Factor contestants have hundereds of thousands of followers and the Voice contestant have a few thousand. But I've noticed the voice contestants really make an effort to reply on twitter...

I do not understand why contestants get excited and look surprised when they are chosen. I notice that their friends/family are already in the friends/family positions when the show begins. It is quite odd to see the contestant surprised.

It would look even odder just saying "Its X's game today I have only just read about the contestants knowing that they are only aware of their game, about 5 in the lead-up.
