I have read the forum on sysprep, however I see that there are some procedures which must be completed before the old HHD is removed and input into the new motherboard.
Problem is My old motherboard crashed and I cannot implement sysprep on the...

For what it is worth, Windows 7 seems to be pretty tolerant of new motherboards.

If everything seems snug, or if the connector is one single block, you need to verify that the motherboard header and port connector use the same....
If the port connectors.
Check the motherboard header that the front ports are plugged into.

Re: new motherboard for e7500 Instead of spending on a new mobo, why not get a PCI LAN card it under warranty? Intel usually provided 3 years warranty.

OK, so I'm guessing that it's dead . It's not my machine, and the owner is on a very fixed (IE, none) income. I'm generous, but I'm not that generous, since I already gave him what (at the time) was a fully functional and fairly well-equipped machine....

There is very little chance that the new controller will recognise....
Plan for the worst -- backup your data and rebuild the array on the new controller.
It's 99% likely that the new RAID controller will not recognize your current setup.

The recommended procedure when doing a significant motherboard swap is a format and reinstall.
If it uses an Intel chipset on the motherboard then your best chance at it booting up on a new board.

A PCI card is the best option, PCI parallel port cards are cheap at around ~$15USD with a few higher-end models available... .
There is this alternative on Amazon for $13.
Belkin make a USB Parallel Printer Adapter , but it is $39.99 which is a bit pricy .
