The only other "thing" in DD's nursery was a bookshelf a few times when she was a newborn....

As we were going for a gender neutral nursery that we would pretty-up or rough-up as needed after sons.
Why do they offer sugar water to newborns? Do all hospitals do this ? What is the purpose of it?
