We are going to Washington DC in July and maybe drop by Niagra Falls. How many days would be appropriate to stay in Niagara Falls? Thanks.

Its a beautiful little town about 15 minutes from niagara falls.
It is $10 per a Stop at Niagara on the Lake.
Is to park at the Niagara Parks Rapidsview parking lot (about 1/2 mile above the Falls).

The buses leave Toronto at the train/bus terminals....
On the weekend there is go transit that has train service from Union to downtown Niagara Falls :) Greyhound, Megabus or Gotransit are the best ways to get to Niagara Falls.
