Discussions about nice guitars

Would you rather own several $500-$800 guitars or one nice guitar? Would you rather own several, maybe 3, acoustics in the $500-$800 range or one nice $1,500-$2,000 guitar? I realize maybe the different guitars serve a different playing style, but me personally, I think I'd rather just own one nice guitar. What about... Amps for sure i was sort of unwittingly modifying all of my guitars into essentially the same style guitar. Not too far in either direction. More balanced, some nice guitars, with some nice amps.
