We'll I was going to use my old post but I guess this forum deletes posts after a certain length of time it doesn't get used. Anyway my ammonia levels were staying about 0.25ppm for 2 weeks straight. I tested my water and here are my new readings.

Nitrate- 10ppm
Now from the progression....

It into nitrite (NO2) and then again with different bacteria that take NO2 and convert it into Nitrate.

try to reduce feeding as well change and see how it goes... .
But I was mistaken Not a comment on you nitrite/nitrate problem but your stocking might result nitrite/nitrate problem but your stocking might result in issues.

Nitrate is basically will not have any problems with either nitrite or nitrate.
Do not get Nitrate confused with Nitrite.
Break down the Nitrite into Nitrate.

Used l.r. From tank+a fish for cycle but no nitrite or nitrates? Using l.r. From established tank and then adding a Mollie from my tank after adjusting him from brackish to full salt, my ammonia spiked to about .50 ish and back down but I never got trite...

I tested the nitrate last several weeks and the reading have always been almost zero and just wondering if it's possible. The cermedia was added 3 months ago.
12,000 gallons, almost 2 years old
7 Cf of cermedia for bio with 9,000 GPH flow.

recently i ve got Acuamedic Nitrate redactor NR1000 i keep feeding the bio balls daily and when ever the dosing bump not started the nitrate is zero inside the redactor and when ever i start the dosing to the tank for 2 to 3 days the nitrate raise...

My wife woke me up in a panic today and said my nitrite levels were reading at the danger level....so we did a 40% water change and cleaned the filters but my nitrite levels are still at stress.
We didnt do enough research and started our tank with out...
