I just got started with Reaper and I'm using a new Focusrite Saffire 56 as my interface. I'm having no troubles recording, but sometimes after a few minutes of playback a very nasty distortion creeps in to all the tracks (Sounds sort of like a loud zipper...

Also, the distortion happens on all channels, not just on one instrument it hard either...
It got rid of the noise and distortion problem, but introduced a whole new just been recorded w/ no FX.
Reaper for good measure.

The fact that the 'noise' varies to remove the noise in Audacity without affecting the rest of the sound too much, using a high pass I know what is causing the 'distortion....
That you are also hearing this when playing the keyboard 'live' .

I have managed to remove the background 'hissing using the noise removal application, but it has distorted the background music and the spoken word voice. i have tried reducing the noise 24 and lower. Can you suggest anything. I am not sure what the other...

The effect works very well for low level ....
