Engine mounting it i found is the quietest ....
At my job, we use a bracket that has isolators that mounts the Carter to it and can be bolted to engine .
We use rubber isolator bushings to mount air ride compressors to frame rails and quiet them down some .

Dunno if it's old age but I'm starting to get pissed off with noisy cars. You know the sort, they've got 'loudeners' on their mufflers, and they make a hell of a racket surging away from the lights etc.
Both my cars are Japanese and are properly quiet...
