North Sydney is just one train stop over the bridge from Circular Quay to North Sydney or very close for a taxi trip. There are some great shops, too. You'll be able to dine and walk along there.

Fortunately North Sydney is a major commuting hub and big area for business, so is that the commuting in to North Sydney from most of those areas will take quite a long time.
