I hate. loathe. despise. my kitchen cabinets.
Early 1990s golden oak. yuk.
New cabinets are out. Refacing is more than we want to spend in this house ($12,000+). Painting is all that's left.
It's not a job I want to take on. I have 19 doors and 21 drawer...

I have been using mlc wood pic.
I mentioned it had 1 coat of Cover Stain and I know the photo of painting oak trim had 2 coatsI don't think I will ever be able to do that with just CS, and paint.

I usually prefer painting late afternoon or morning scenes. I pass this area north of Santa Barbara a lot and see these oaks out there just off the road. I had my camera the last time and snapped a few pics out of the car window as we drove by...

I've bought 6 white oak doors and looking to varnish with a clear satin varnish. Trouble is they're being fitted to pine frames. Plus we need the architrave and approx 35m of skirting too. Rather than using white oak, does anyone know of a varnish/stain...

Lastly re your question....
This is obviously NOT like painting, where I can repeatedly that makes sense.
By using a paint brush and as needed thereafter will make a pad with lint free cloth and rub stroke, and only overlapping marginallhy etc.

Here's a project I'm on at the moment. The Door was painted years ago with a horrible dark woodstain. The new owners of the house were all set to throw the door away until the joiner who was building a new stair case pointed out to them that it is a solid...
