Pardon my ignorance, but what defines rough seas?
We have only been on 2 cruises - Alaska, and Mexico - and Alaska I recall feeling a little more motion almost exactly when and where Miss Ruth C told me we would feel it. And then when we went to Mexico...

On an Alaskan cruise one of rough.
Rough seas -- we have had them last anywhere from 24 hours to 48 hours.

We will be travelling the GOR in March and was wondering which is the best way to go from Albury to a starting point? I thought we should go to the western end ( is Portland the best starting point or somewhere else?)and work our way back towards NSW ...

We have done this before:
Avg world oil consumption since 1970 is 67.788 M barrels per day
or about 1,039,190,040,000 barrels since 1970
Then say from 1900 to 1970 that consumption avg'd 1/2 of that just for giggles,
That would be 33,894,000 barrels per...

My wife and I are sailing to Hawaii from Los Angeles in April. What can I expect from the weather on the Pacific that time of year? I have an idea of the weather on the Islands but not on the open ocean.
