Although not new to geocaching, I have now obtained an etrex venture HC and as yet cannot find how I reset the odometer to zero,---is there anyone out there that can help?---thanks.---and is the odometer the best way...

It should be a left button....
It's been a while since.
(I think)....
It should be a left button thing.
Icon, click on that and you should find a way to reset all the trip info including the odometer including the odometer.

I'm looking to use a roll chart for the first time for the TAT, and wondered about resetting the odometer. If I zero out my odometer at the beginning,and then miss a turn and have to go back,my odometer will be off. Are there odometer devices out there...

On the Vector (with the optional thumbs switch) the odometer can about resetting....
Am I asking the right question to reset its odometer to zero.
If it can be reset to a certain # on the odometer if you miss a turn.

Way to get tenths of miles on odometer? I didn't really notice this until I had someone in the passenger seat doing navigation, but the odometer seems to be lacking tenths of a mile.

There's both Trip 1 and Trip 2, and you can reset them for navigational purposes by holding "OK".
[dunno] Use the "up" arrow button on the steering wheel to access the other screens.
Probably not unfortunately.

All i have to say is yes more problems (sitting here shacking my head) okay i was driving the other day and i noticed that the odometer and the the thing that shows u how many miles you went on a tank of gas (i dont know what its called) arent moving ...

You can buy the little gears in the odometer that strip for about $25-$35 can't possibly show more than the odometer....
Step 1, never push the reset button whilstVery common problem.
Haven't put it in the car yet (it's on the list ) .

How do we reset the oil mileage on odometer?
I was talking to someone and he said you hold down the reset button turn key on and follow the directions?
I did it but didn't work anyone know how please help...

3) Continue to hold (TB), the number "15A and release
7) Counter is now reset

I'd love to have a trip odometer that reset to zero every time I charged! Often I get 4 or 5 miles out and notice that I forgot to reset the existing trip odometers manually.
Surely this is just a software change, how about it Nissan?

After changing my engine oil, I remember re setting the odometer but don't remember how I did it.

When I first turn the engine on the odometer....
Just press the left button/stalk on the dash to reset There is more to it, I am speaking of re setting the computer odometer type thing so the computer knows when the oil was changed.

My wife informed me today that the odometer in her 2001 cruiser went from reading 95,000 km to all anyone ever have this happen and if so how to repair .

Count your blessings...it's getting newer! I tried what you suggested the odometer....
Hold it IN and with your right hand turn it will reset your odometer.
IN the black reset button (the one to reset the trip meter).

(dont know how acurate these are, but I found them through a search, appearently they are the only codes a odometer test can display!!)

Hi, I`ve noticed that the odometer backlight is lit on the dash when the car is locked. I did some searching and thought it could be related to the capacitor issue that has been mentioned in a number of threads.
I cannot find any mention of only the odometer...

This bypassed the....
The latter to be a small amount of tracking from the base of the pad for the button which operates the 'check control'.
Is the trip reset button and the one by the brown socket is the check control button.
