I found someone offering a used JL Audio 12w6 (version 1). I'm wondering if this will work with my 4ohm amp, which is rated for "260 watts RMS x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)". I don't really understand the ohms stuff too well...

You will need a mono amp that is stable into a 2 ohm load.
If the subs are 4 ohms each and connected in parallel (not bridged) they will present a 2 ohm load to the amplifier.
