I use an oil based primer worried about not being able to cover up the old painting with the new paint layers, also whether description, I would not reuse them....
Down is not always needed, it depends on how thick the paint is.

I don't think there are any real set formulas for painting skin colours, it's a matter of observation and relating one colour to another. I usually use (not that I do it very often!) a fairly limited palette with a couple of warm and cool reds and yellows...

Does anyone else watch The Joy of Painting ? I used to watch it all the time with my dad when I was younger. I think it used to air on our local PBS station at 12:30 on weekdays, and I would catch it every day during summer vacation.
