I do wipe off paint on my hands during painting, but don't clean is from the turpentine....
You generally don't have to worry about any smell from the paints the skin unless you have a cut.

Trust me but it's still better than....
-a spray bottle for wet sanding between coats -alcohol, to clean before primer and before paint -primer, paint and clear coat, you will need a LOT more than you think.

You can paint over the alkyd film with anything oil or water based.
And I would lean to an oil based alkyd primer.
Use a good primer.

I also would add a mildicide to the paint.
Before pressure washing.
Why are you priming? If there's no bare wood it should for at least 15 min .
And then priming / painting? BM is good paint.
We just had our ceilings redone and we went ahead and used ceiling paint. There are signs of the paint pulling away. Can I use primer paint to seal the ceiling over the ceiling paint?
