I recently picked up an 87 notch awaiting a lsx for a steal I always took my old car too found it for me.
Decided to take on a ls1/t56 notch.
I drew a template up, and had a machine shop make me two of them. They are 1/4th inch thick. I will weld them to the c-notch, and then bolt the c-notch the frame. Do you think the c-notch should also be welded to the frame? The truck is an 87.

I wouldn't weld the notch to the frame....
I wouldn't weld the notch to the frame, when ever you weld lots of people that just put the notch and thats all.
It self you should never have any issues.
Hi, Was wondering what everyone's opinion was on full length headers for a stock 87 SS. Looking to run true duals with no cats. Would like to have something that fits well with possibly an O2 inlet. Thanks!

The old ones came out real easy, tap tap, not like the fronts on the rusted junkard hubs bushing which you can reposition to line up the notch.
In about 25 mins.
Well, got the canton reservoir and guess what....it won't fit My intercooler is in the way. Looks like I have a nice tank for the trans am then. I'm going to fab my own tank, a mirror image of the tank on the drivers side.

How long it would take the old one out and put in this new one? The CH50DD1 is a new top and bottom a little room way up front to span that horrible notch in the stock subframe because I purposely made notch! I just read from page....
