What he didn't state is that the Olds 403 is a derivative of that division's small-block engine design.
You a very fair rationale covering both the Pontiac and Olds motors.
Looking for a posi for '58-64 Olds/Pontiac. Can be whole third member (pumpkin), posi unit or empty posi differential case. Can need repair. Either spline, but 29 preferred so I don't have buy axles. Thanks, Bud

Shoulda got a closer shot before sanding.
