I have some sort of audigy card, SB0090, that came with a front-panel thing with all kinds of gold-plated plugins and things, including firewire. The audigy itself has gold plated hardware all over it. Very blingy.
My question is, does it do anything ...

I think I have solved it now, It was the onboard AUDIO card on the motherboard that made it crash!
ASUS mother board. (NOT USED IN SONAR) When I use the SPDIF output "Windows default audio device" for example other "sounds" like video, You Tube, Audio...

So you may have to install the various audio/midi related drivers the issue out more fully....
Solved it now, It was the onboard AUDIO card on the motherboard that made it crash!
ASUS mother board are talking to the drivers differently.

It's been a long time since I last built a new system. Been out of the loop for too long and I'm curious to know how good the sound quality of onboard is these days?
With Sandy Bridge being so energy efficient I'm thinking about building a low power media...

onboard (and PCI cards might I add) to be pretty crappy compared to a proper audio solution the front panel audio header I was thinking bottom dollar stuff like a Asrock H61M.

Ok, so now that I've got the H4N successfully working as an audio interface, I've got a small nuisance thing....
I'm recording videos with a webcam and a camcorder video capture software. When I play back the video, the audio can be heard on the H4N onboard...

I have a asus m4a78t-e motherboard with onboard audio where i disabled it threw bois to install a PCI soundcard which likely has better linux support.... where upon frist boot it runs fine... and will run fine at times for day or 2.... but then suddenly...
