I'm looking for a core2duo motherboard, following is what I need:
preferably ASUS
Preferably with onboard display.
Must have onboard sound and LAN
All motherboard components must work out of the box with Ubuntu 9.04.
Cheap -- <= 10K INR (200$) is good...

Is this even possible? I need to connect multiple line level inputs into my machine, but my soundcard only has one Line-In. I'd like to use the Line-In on my onboard sound device to get an additional input

What you need is an Mbox my friend.
It is certainly possible to run more than one sound card in a PC - I've seen it done (but not done these will be aimed at a professional sound/music audience so are likely to cost a pretty penny.

So right now I am using the onboard audio. But I use my headphones 90% of the time. But sometimes I use my speakers if I want to show friends a video or something. Anyway I know in the audio options I can switch between my USB headset and my speakers ...

No point in having it if your never going of that rare... .
I always disable my onboard sound.
But outside impressive indeed.
That is if the onboard and the sound card use similar software, because you could have driver conflicts.

You could hear everything more clear and crisp.
It was between the current rig im on, and an older Xtreme gamer sound card.
