I am currently 46 years old and am thinking about becoming an Optometrist. I have an Electrical Engineering degree with about a 3.3 GPA back in 1984. I would have to take some of the Pre-Requisites. I believe I have the drive and ability to be successful...

I am really set on dental school and always wanted to be a dentist; however, I have recently thinking of a possible backup. So basically my question is if DO school is a little less competitive than your average dental school?

Because Med, optometry, podiatry, pharmacy, vet, law, and grad school didnt accept me.
I actually did that twice: at schools I didn't want to attend and for shock value.

What are the alternatives if you are wait-listed/rejected to all the medical school you apply to? I have heard some people have taken up pharmacy but what if your passion is to become a medical doctor. I wanted to hear some alternatives such as programs...
