Can't help you much, but my mom used to get Oreck vacuums because they advertised to be only 7 lbs. She had problems herself, and the Oreck allowed her to continue vacuuming when she could not have used a heavier vacuum.

It stopped sucking last year and I was ready to give up after a vacuum repairman said he could tune cleaned it, and the vacuum is like....

Previously I had spent $100 each year on a new vacuum because if/when we move into a house that's carpeted that I'll want to invest in a serious vacuum cleaner.

Not overly expensive a good one is about ten bucks.) This also wont damage your vacuum so long as you..excellent idea! I too have a bagless type vacuum and have wondered how to make sure its clear of bbs after I vacuum..
I want to get a new vacuum. The one I have has a very small canister and not much power. It worked fine when most of our apartment was tiled, but it takes me forever to vacuum this house. I'd like to spend less than $200. Any recommendations?

I tried a Bissel bagless ($80-90 at Target.
This is my second one.
It has a 5 year warranty and 3 free yearly tune the standard Oreck XL for 7 or 8 years.
I just got mine - floor model - for $200 .
