Looking at a 28' Carolina classic with blow I/o's, would like to hear peoples thoughts on pulling the motors adding a bracket and putting outboards on the back??

I need some outboard jet advise... So i bought a brand new Lowe Skorpion 16' aluminum boat last year with a 60 HP jet mercury outboard.
I do a lot of shallow river fishing up here with a high risk of hitting submerged objects. I have hit quite a few rocks...

Temp gauge on a 60hp outboard jonson is there a way to hook a temp gauge to a 60 hp outboard johnson so that you can read the temp on the dash?

I have the ability to figure out how to engineer for a 3 foot bracket....
I've a bracket and save up for a used outboard.
The plate will distribute the load over a much bigger area .
That the outboard bracket will attach to.
