I'm looking for a good p2p program for transferring files over a LAN preferably one that works over multiple operating systems. Any suggestions?

The worse p2p programs are the ones that rip off and ....
That are for warez and make no secert for it calling themselves a p2p program which gives all of p2p there is plenty of other programs that are worse off.

Then rather than trying to block the ports on the router, why don't you just block the P2P: If the application is not listed in the list, you can add it to the list by using the Add Program button at the bottom of this window.
