I just bought an LSI SAS 9211-8i HBA(Host bus adapter) to use with my new hardware. I realized after looking at the card that it required an x8 slot and my new mobo only x16 available. I keep on reading that PCI-E specs are backwards compatable however...

This goes against the intentions....
Yes, in the general case you can install PCI-E cards in any PCI-E slot that will physically have PCI-E x16 slot which will only work with graphics cards.
Upgrade.

If I buy a PCI-E v2.0 graphics card (Nvidia Geforce GTX 275) will it work correctly and to the full potential with my PCI-E v1.0 motherboard (Asus P5B-Deluxe) ?

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at superuser):
PCIe is backwards-compatible, so you can use 1.0 cards around through older tech articles... .
However, i'm not positive you'll be reaching the maximum capacity of the card as the PCI-E v1.0 slot has a slower bus speed.
It will work.

Hello
Is it possible to convert a PCI-e x1 slot into an old PCI slot? If so, how?
Thanks,

There are little cards that you can slip into the PCI-e x1 slot to convert intended for....
Pci-e slots(not even the full size 16x versions, let alone a 1x) are not backwards, there actually are.
They could do it.

So I have this P8P67-Pro motherboard, which is brand new.
It has three PCI-E x16 slots (one can only be used at 8x max) and two PCI-E x1 slots.
If you're using a double thick high end video card, one PCI-E x1.0 slot is covered by it, so its useless. The...

A single PCI-E....
The P67 chipset: : The reference Intel design uses a PCI-E to PCI bridge to provide the PCI slots.
A single PCI-E 2.0 lane is used to connect the bridge.
To provide the PCI slots.

A PCI-E 3.0 card should work....
Iteration doubles the available bandwidth - eg a PCI-E 2.0 X8 slot has the same bandwidth as a PCI-E 1.1 X16 slot
For the most part they are all backwards compatible.

So I recently decided I want to be able to record xbox gameplay onto my computer. Alan suggested I use Intensity Pro, which uses PCI-Express x1,x4,x8, or even x16. I compared this option with the Hauppage, and seemed like Intensity Pro would be the way...

It would perfectly at 1080p....
It would also be worth testing the intensity capping guarantee you won't notice any performance drop from 16x PCI-e on your current board dropping.
From 16x PCI-e on your current board dropping.

Anyone aware of a mITX or very small motherboard with 2 pci-e 16x slots?

The format only allows for a single slot, so if a board did have multiple expansion slots it wouldn't be compatible with any mITX cases.
I don't think one exists.

Did you plug in the additional floppy power connector required to power the card? Yes! The card works fine in the 1x slots! But will not read....
Have you tried in all those slots?
It should work in all of them.
XPCIE slots available.
