I have 8 ships supplying my phq with raw mats and don't need nor want of difference....
Learned the hard way after connecting my phq sector to the hub, had preferred sector trade coverage.
And the phq will not work either.

I'm assuming, IIRC, that you CAN NOT (edit) complex anything to the PHQ, but I'm trying to remember what we need to build ships folks.

And for the smaller stuff, well the phq linked together due to the time....
And I'm not bothering with a complex, the big stuff takes so long to build that you can refill the phq before its built.
You can't put the phq into a complex.

I'm doing the PHQ plot right now where i sent to find Bala Gi's Orca. I jump right to the marked sector and found the Orca with the right registration but there's nothing going on. I use SETA for like a minute or 2 then a voice message said another Orca...

I was reading the info on the nearby systems and I noticed something odd. The description says the planet is Irradiated and that the Paranid setup a standard colony with basic resources. However that "Standard" colony has 99,065,468 people in it.

5x Boreas
3x shrike (spitfyre, falcon and chimera's)
3 Tigers with IBL
1 Cobra with missile factories for support.
1 Panther fully loaded all hangers filled with m3 fighters.
1 raptor fully filled.

I'd prefer the PHQ storage to be divided into compartments.
Those Silicon Wafers just take up so much damn sapce .
Of the PHQ or allow us to use an adjacent Equipment Dock to help "supply all ships".

I was thinking of making the unkown sector right of montelaar and below legends home my own sector.
It has both ore and silicon. do you think this would be a good sector to set up a headquaters?

So no problems with the sector between montalaar and new income? You mean the sector Avarice as a home sector? Sure, it is pretty common it is simpler to setup bases ....
For plot related reasons.
Not want to setup in Freedoms Reach.

Since there is not enough empty (non race controlled space)... paranids took the 2 sectors (by unholy descent) and the TC ANH sector, is also gone , (next to that nice unknown sector, next to zyarth dominion, that most people claimed as his.

Just make sure it is unknown and not a pirate sector...
But the uk and are perfectly suitable for your home sector.
On top of my PHQ) PHQ and Hub are in the works,but i know not of any plan for own sector.
