Is it still possible to get into factory service mode from firmware 4.11 on the PS3? I KNOW ABOUT GETTING STUCK IN FACTORY SERVICE MODE SO DON'T REMIND ME! Also, what does factory service mode do besides allowing people on firmware 3.55 to downgrade?

It doesn't allow you to downgrade it only allows you to restore the current Firmware version therefor allowing you to correct any damage you did by mistake, IE turning your PS3 off ....
