I've had my PS3 Slim for two years but thats it.
I was playing a multiplayer game on assassin's creed revelations and the PS3 Slim froze and turned on but it successfully turned on so it wasn't a YLOD but it overheated.

Xbox 360 slim is cheaper but you have to pay for live, PS3 you don't, but still i'd go with the Xbox slim.

I have been using mine hardware from my experiences, and I have a fat original PS3 and the new slim as well.
I have not seen many reports on the PS3 slim freezing up.

I am about to get a 160gb ps3 slim from ebay. According to the seller it has only be used around 3 - 4 times. I have an old bookcase which i want to use as an enternainment area. Would that be ok? The ps3 would be on the first INSIDE shelf of the case...
