A little dab with a Schminke pastel pic Good job!! You've really got Buffy down great in pastel pencil!! great likeness of her.
Although that may be difficult at this stage with a pastel pencil.

This is a piece I've done from a photo taken at the Seattle Zoo some years back. Usually I'm hanging out in the Photography or Pastel forums, haven't done CP in years, but like the control I get from using them. C & C always welcomed.

And watercolor pencils pencil....
Prismas will allow panpastels to be layered on top of the pencil.
Some colored pencils won't let you add pastel on top, because they are very waxy.
In this case was done with panpastels.

Meechelle, I don't like the blending pencil.
When I first started with my pencils, I bought the Prismacolor blending pencil to blend with just the pencils.

Art Spectrum Colourfix and other sanded.
On PastelMat are pastel pencils, hard pastels and Pan Pastels.

Buy a dark.
To buy, say, three sticks of pastel, and three pencils, that is a good way to begin.
