World Building - how far do you go?
I was thinking when I saw your map that it reminded me of Legend of Zelda, very cool. What I love about Terry Goodkind is that he is a woodsman in real life and when his main character pays attention to the surrounding terrain in such great detail I can actually picture myself there. I love when authors make me feel like I'm truly in the world next to the main character. I would love to read what you have once you're done.

Fantasy books NOT part of a series?
Lions of Al-Rassan is technically stand-alone, but several of Kay's other books take place in the same world. His Constantinople stand-in wasn't quite at the same level as his Spain stand-in, but I did like the "Sailing to Sarantium" books.

Who would you like to co-author a book with?
This may not be a well-known name, but I would want to co-author fantasy with Patricia Wrede. I have found her stories to be deep, well-thought, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Stand-Alone Fantasy Novels?
I personally love Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind, I think it stands alone very nicely as a single book, but I also think the rest of the series is great. Its probably exactly what you are looking for, lots of magic and a somewhat medieval setting.

What Young Adult books?
This reminded me that I really need to reread these! I first read them in middle school, so I'm sure I missed out on a lot of the meaning as I pretty much took them at surface value.
