I've been googling and I'm still confused so it's only natural to turn to the GDT.
My job just switched from a semi-monthly payroll to a bi-weekly payroll.
My most recent check showed a $92 decrease. I was told that this is because the taxes are different...

You might also be getting paid and I didn't get any tax breakdown.
Then divide it by 26 payroll, you get 24 checks per year and on biweekly, you get 26.
Take the tax that you used to get taken out and multiply it by 24.

I only have a company that has 2 emplpyess so it is not worth paying for the QB payroll.
I set up the taxes but they do not deduct - not the SS, MC nor Fed income tax deductions. The state unemployment is 2.7% whihc I have entered also does not deduict...

It sounds like you have to do does not automatically calculate anything... .
You would just type in the deductions manually withholdings unless you sign up for one of their payroll services.

I'm contemplating a job opportunity in Northern California but I'm curious about the tax situation. Wasn't there some kind of law passed years ago that newcomers have to pay much more payroll, real estate taxes? Possibly both?
