I'm just trying to figure out what's so special about a multimedia PC. I have an older computer, few years, that's not too too slow and I wanted to use it. To me the multimedia PC just looks like a computer that has all your movies and music on it piped...

You can easily mod an older PC to be a multimedia machine by adding these capabilities, MediaPortal etc etc).
Generally, a multimedia PC (nowadays) includes the ability to output video in HD (1920x1080 capabilities).

EDIT: The reason I ask is that the documentation for Virtual PC 2007 does NOT mention Windows 7 as a supported guest...

If you plan to install Windows 7 RC using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, don't use a version older than Virtual PC 2007 SP1 (6.0.192.0).

You cannot.
Would an option to gain control of a computer and toss a file in there from within an iPhone app.
Your best bet is to send the data using HTTP or FTP to a server, which could be your PC.
