It is, however, alsoHave a table that keeps track of a user's vote for an article (something like UserID,ArticleID,VoteTimeStamp).
Better than the first solution as it lets many people from the same IP vote.

I always vote and I tell other people to vote (yes, I'm a bore). I think people are more interested in X-Factor and Celebrity Toilet Brush than they are in politics though, which is a shame.
