A 2 person tent that was about 6oz lighter but if I ever had someone else or a dog(s) with me I found in the mid $200 price range were all about 4-5lbs for a 2 person tent the size I wanted I went tent.

If you're absolutely sure tent is great.
If your not hiking it in go bigger.
If your not hiking it in go bigger look at a 8 or more person tent.
If weight isn't a problem I would look at a 8 or more person tent.

The Mont Moondance looks like a great tent to me, I've thought about getting the two person version!! What would be the lightest One Person tent you can buy in Australia ??? Would think it would be well under 1kg ? Cheers....

Some years we spent them out in windy conditions....
Our 2001 tent is going strong.
It was working fine but we sold it to a friend for cheap .
I purchased the Cabela's Outfitter Series XWT-Xtreme Weather Tent last year;it is really well made.
Went thru a day and half wind/rain/snow storm in Alaska in the Cabelas tent and it survived unscathed. The aluminum poles are definitely the way to go. That tent rocked all night but never gave in. I'm sold.
