I've decided to build my first PC. I'm going down the AMD route. Have ordered everything I need but I'm still unsure which CPU to go for.

You might have to go with Opterons for 2-cpu's.
IIRC, AM2/AM3 processors are not designed to operate in multiple sockets, so you won't see one .

Phenom II X4 955 and Phenom II X4 945 3.20GHz 3.00GHz mitlerweile leigen priced almost the same the 955 however has a TPA of 125 W compared to a TPA of 95 W at 945, but has slightly less bar how would you weigh the pros against each other?

Quad-core Phenom II is negligible at best, since not many apps and games can make use of the extra two replacement for my Phenom....
And much better than Phenom II X4, especially in multitasking and video / photo editing.

I'm not good with overclock so I need your help
I bought AMD Athlon II X3 450 processor and unlocked 4th core in EasyTune 6 so now I have AMD Phenom II X4 B50 processor.
Can I overclock it to more GHz? How to do it? What to change?

First of all get rid of easy tune, it will hinder you're attempts to overclock and everything... .
I was able to unlock my old X3 455, but temps went way up...just with stock clock settings .
Before you bump the speed, I would check your temps under full load .

On air 4.0 ghz is a good overclock for a phenom II, you might be able to go a little further.

I'm running a Phenom II X4 965 awesome chip.
As an upgrade, and unlocked Phenom II X4 will be a nice upgrade.
