Home run the phone line to the NID (Network Interface panel.
I always ran separate line for data and phone and I use cat 5E for both just easier to run multiple cables though.
And more secure connect.

If you measure over-voltage on the relay coil use a smaller capacitor.
Operating voltage 12V DC hook that to the DC side of a bridge
(can use 1n914 diodes etc) and put a capacitor there too.

You could try this.
Exciting.
You should hook up your refrigerator to it so the phone company pays for it instead of you.

After some analysis we were doing, he took out his voltage meter.
To call Direct TV.

Low voltage wiring running next to MC cable Do you think that running low voltage computer and phone lines down the same stud of a 10' wall is a problem as long as the home runs are a few feet apart?

Good point, too much....
Some devices require, not over.
Stereos, GPS, phone chargers, on and on are rated for that 12v.
Not 14v.
Not under.
A power supply to regulate the in-line voltage so they are assured of constant voltage.

You can set the output voltage that will always deliever.
You want a TPS63010.It does exactly what you need.
TPS630XX are top of the line regulators to hand solder.
With two resistors and it will stick to that voltage.
