Your mobile device was never meant to run MSI files, that's the desktop's job .
I think this will solve your problem: Run that MSI file from your desktop while the HTC device is connected via ActiveSync .

Apparently there were some licensing or legal issues with posting the images on HTC's site which, after over a month, haven't resulted in either a solution or an explanation being posted .

The phone has to be activated on the number that was used for the upgrade.

Compelling reason NOT to upgrade (waiting for a new phone to be released, planning on leaving your carrier, etc.) you're better off getting the upgrade as soon as possible.

Well happy with it and its fantastic phone, but between samsung and htc I prefer samsung by a long way.

I Don't want to pay an overpriced contract for the Iphone + insurance so unless theyre a fair bit cheaper now this is not really an option....
