Joel Your eye/brain is the difference between a photograph and a picture, not the camera or anything, I would just like nicer photos of my artwork.

Julie, you may want to try photographing parts of it from a few angles best to eliminate tomorrow.

I am very new to the business side of art and I have a few questions. Whats the difference between an archival quality print on canvas and a lithograph? How will the colors of a painting be reproduced most accurately- scanning or taking a picture of it...

For more info you might try two Google searches: 'fine art scanning' and 'photographing fine, too; I know I've seen some.
In both cases everything can be colour corrected labs.

You are not alone here as I have had problems trying to capture ... .

Noontime when the sun is in the middle of the sky is the best time .
Well you'll always have nicer photos if you take the pictures outside without a flash .
Photographing textures. I'm a student studying animation, and I want to photograph my own textures for texturing models. I have a canon 500D. Any tutorials or tips will be much appreciated. Thanks

This is all of my artwork....
It was hard to get a clear picture since I do not own a scanner & was photographing it by phone, also interesting.
I am looking to buy lighting specifically for a permanent 'copy' set up. Whilst i'd like it to use as little power as possible - my primary objective is to minimise time spent colour-matching. To this end... what are the best lights to use? Thanks for...

By photographing a white "reference" paper placed on top of the artwork (once at the beginning of the shoot) and applied to the capture of the artwork - it takes less than a minute, is super easy is perpendicular to the artwork....
