Im heavy(215/6'2") and kind of hard on things in general. I need a set of cranks that can take some abuse without me having to tighten them up all the time. I have a Shadow cruiser with a 3 piece Euro BB crank set with a pinch bolt setup. I just got back...

Whats funny though is that i havn't gotten ankle bite from my powerbites, but... .
HOLLOWBITES > powerbites.
As much as I love ODyssey, Powerbites are the best cranks ever, despite the occasional ankle bite.

I have just recieved my new Sora FC3403 chainset from Ribble. Unfortunately it was not supplied with a bottom bracket (Plastic tube, cups, bearings or whatever pixie dust serves in place of a bottom bracket for this type of chainset) as I had expected...

I have found that to be true also.
Sheldon Brown says that all Shimano H-II BBs are for the same axle dimensions .

And it was actually from a 2 piece crank ( and those cranks weren't made after 1940.) I use re-pop silverbear....
That one has a hexagonal center.
With the exception of the extra wide one piece crank being sold by I forget.

Does anyone know of experiments with cold bending offsets in 1 piece cranks for 4 stroke motor clearence, with a press or other methods?
I have some ideas for a pair of bending forks to do it without removal from the bike. Work similar to a tubing bender...

A 4 foot cheater pipe will be stuck, similar to the way a hand operated conduit... .
OK, I bent are drilled to take a piece of 3/4 x 2 x12 barstock.
Easier to just buy a wide offset three piece pedal crank.
You mess with them for hours.

Never taken anything beyond a pone piece apart. I am having trouble trying to get this JC higgens chain ring off. the rest of the bike is gone but i'd like to keep the ring. I took off the nut from the pin/bolt (top pic) that runs through the crank arm...

I say to leave nut on so you don't risk damaging threads .
With the nut still on but backed off, tap with a hammer and something to soften the blow to not damage nut .
The pin is just wedged in place.
I think I've only done this once but if I recall.. .

Howdy folks.
I ride a 2010 Marin Pine Mountain w/EBB and would like to add a set of bmx style 3 piece cranks to the mix. Is it possible with an EBB? Would I just need a new spindle or new bottom bracket as well?

Hey guys, have had this bike for a few months not too shabby, but having some troubles, got the crank arms off no problem, but the sprocket has like some spacer or something that doesnt want to come off in front of the sprocket, very annoying, suggestions...
