I am reasonably sure it was blued -- possibly on the Pietta is reported....
By the way, do you know what the common factory finish was for the original Model 1858's were the finish is gone from my remington 1858 44ca.
It is appreciated.

My mom and dad both had holster's made by them and I will soon .
They will make a custom set to fit you specifically for an excellent price in my opinion .
Call them and have your measurements ready.
They make good leather.

Look at numrich gun parts or where ever you can find a schematic and check how it all goes together, then if its still inoperable look into replacement... .
I would first suggest checking to ensure you correctly put the pieces back together before buying parts .
