If you only bought it in October it should....
The older, all metal models were better but when PW made the switch to plastic to cut down weight (no joke, mine's a brick) there were a lot more faulty units .
IME these are very hit and miss when it comes to QC .

As to "bpm....
The "bpm precision" is just one aspect.
So I'd say the price is ok.
As to worth the money - this one has a number of helpful features .
If in doubt, just get another one.
A metronome is a metronome.
I don't have this one, but here's my view.
