Any suggestions on how to prepare for them?
Books to read or dvds to watch?
I've had no training in MFR- only the little blurb we had in school.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

If you have one.
Best bet if you don't have one in these areas you should use the call points yourself so the roadtrains know your around.
Then you can drop down to the coast at Port Douglas and head sth .
