Is thicker and theres a plain plastic cap similar to a number plate screw cap.

Yes; it's rubber, not plastic.

Never had a leak or a jumped thread.
(Original model had one cap only) - Used to store diesel and later on biodiesel.
Quip I've had a good run, 10+ years with some AUSTRALIAN made black plastic ones, with two yellow caps.

Leave it on and protect the pins, unless it is really .

I have one like Cole's...no leaks.
Sealant on my cam cap, i've never had a problem with it leaking.
