So many of my 240 buddies (including me) all had broken this piece of plastic the becomes fragile with the time. I tried to look for a replacement part but it wasn't worth the effort, money and time.
So here's my little solution.

Hey folks,
Ive surfed through the search feature trying to find this, to no avail. Ive heard several mention they "upgraded" the plastic valve cover to a 91+ model. I picked up a 94 Wrangler 2.5 cover (aluminum) Is the only thing different the gasket?...

You need to get the gasket for whatever year ....
Made of aluminum.
Lay the new gasketOK...Here goes....I found a valve cover from a 1994 Wrangler.
Removed the old POS plastic valve cover....
On the larger hose to get it to go on .

I changed the leaky 1998 M3 valve cover gasket with new Victor Renz brand rubber gasket, I even bought the rubber washers. After few days of runing it, I can see that there is oil "sweating" on the lower side. I torqed the bolts all the way to the end...

Be careful torquing that cover down.

The ones I saw were also push onto the pipe sharkbite type. You could try some tape on them or a HD rubber band, but a full on replacement would be a good project. They might not leak but rather blow apart. Better check your water pressure also.

Outside of the fact that these plastic push pull valves.
Their gripper teeth may scratch the pipe enough when removing that a compression valve may have problems plus they have proven long term reliability.

Ideal for a kids bedroom etc. Yes its a starter tank and ideal for a few tetras / goldfish and not expecting to keep Koi in them ;)

Anybody have a picture of the bracket to mount the rollover and liquid check valves? Mine is long gone, as it the panel it mounts to.

They valve bolts directly to the tub on 78, 79, & 80 tubs I have it was just the bolts though the valve & tub that I was feeling.

So my heater control valve on my 2002 Astro split on the way home from work tonight, spitting out all my coolant. I was able to pull over quickly, but not before the temp needle pegged (crossing my fingers the head gasket is still ok).
