To dip my toe back into the world of bikes look at buying a 97 R1100RS, used as an escort bike, 40k on the clock, £200 to insure it, £1900.
Pros - cheap bike to see if I have time/desire to ride bikes
Cons - well, it's a BMW isn't it, and a police one...
