I am always trying to poke holes in my outdoor/survival kit. One thing I have been looking at in winter is body thermoregulation, especially if all you have to rely on is your kit.

You could try heater packs, nearly burning...but my fingertips are still cold if it gets down to the 20s .
Blocking that wind will go a long way to keep your fingers less cold.

Sorry that took so long, my workshop is the driveway and weather hasn't been that good lately... the speaker install from the inside didn't go perfectly, ended up having to take the doors off to make the electrical connections.
