I have got quite a collection of saxes, vintage through to modern but I don't understand why diferent saxes seem to have such different tuning tendencies when I play them.
I have just bought from Milandro a lovely Mauriat alto - great tone and nice action...

The mouthpiece volume should equal the extra volume of the neck, if it were extended to "complete size and position of mouthpiece on neck) but upper register tuning is by purely by length, ie explain why I am finding most comfortable playing....
