Shots from the shoot that you did with a model...but if that doesn't cut it, then just shoot someone to hire you to shoot portraits, weddings, commercial/product/advertising etc.

Are you selling these images to someone other than the person for whom you are doing the shoot? Do about just shooting a portrait for the person or family and providing them with copies or prints on the internet it is ok.

Metering mode doesn't matter that much, keep spot metering on her face .
Shoot late in evening so you have some good light.
Then no need to worry about any.
Just use auto mode (portrait) in a pinch such as this.
